As the year winds down, I’ve been reflecting on my podcast journey. This year, much like 2023, I immersed myself in the world of podcasts, tuning into 150+ different shows and racking up a total of over 1,450 episodes. Assuming an average episode length of 30 minutes, that’s 725 hours of listening—nearly a full month of continuous learning, laughter, and inspiration.
Here are the top 5 podcasts that stood out for me this year:
1-My First Million (Hubspot Media)
A podcast where entrepreneurs Sam Parr and Shaan Puri brainstorm business ideas, discuss trends, and share stories about building successful businesses. It’s a great source of inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs. Been listening to this since around 2021.
2- Motley Fool Money (The Motley Fool)
A finance-focused podcast that covers stock market news, investing tips, and interviews with industry experts. It’s tailored for investors looking to stay informed about financial trends. I almost never skip any episode even though the content and theme is usually US-centric.
3- The Ed Mylett Show
This podcast features motivational conversations with high-achieving individuals in business, sports, and personal development. Ed Mylett aims to help listeners unlock their potential and succeed by focusing on maxing out their potential and god given talents.
4-The Prof G Pod with Scott Galloway (Vox Media Podcast Network)
Hosted by professor and entrepreneur Scott Galloway, this podcast delves into business, technology, and societal issues, offering sharp insights and bold opinions. When it comes to the intersection of business + media + society trends, few can top what Scott offers.
5-All-In (All-In Podcast, LLC)
Featuring Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis, David Sacks, and David Friedberg, this podcast discusses politics, tech, markets, and trends in a candid and often humorous way. It’s perfect for tech enthusiasts and investors. This podcast has been steadily rising in popularity thanks to its focus on important and relevant topics, including economic recession, recent U.S elections, woke ideology, artificial intelligence and more.
These podcasts have been my go-to for everything from self-improvement to staying entertained during long commutes. Whether I’m learning new strategies, finding fresh inspiration, or simply unwinding, these shows have made a significant impact on my year. In addition to these, I have several other must-listen podcast shows, most of which focus on topics such as personal finance, professional development, leadership, current technology trends, and more. I owe much of my professional growth and mastery of various areas in my life to years of listening to podcasts—a habit that truly took off during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
